PRS Employee Since 2017, Milling Operator, Sacramento

Cody started his career path as a summer intern the day after his High School graduation. Of his 4 summers during college, Cody spent three of those working for PRS. After Cody completed college, in March of 2017 he was hired on as a labor for our Jurupa Valley Milling team, by the end of 2017, he was training on a mill for our Sacramento branch. In 2018, Cody relocated to our Sacramento branch where he is currently running a mill.

PRS means a lot of different things to me because I have gotten to watch the growth of this company from a young age. My dad worked for PRS for 10+ years and I’ve always been really motivated by the way the company promotes within. To me, it’s really cool to know that the president of our company and many other management positions are held by people who were operators and in the field at one point in their careers for PRS. It’s nice to know that the people running the company know what it’s like to be in the trench’s doing the dirty work and that I can be one of them one day.  I am also extremely motivated by the ESOP. When I get asked about our ESOP by other people, I always tell them it’s pretty cool to see those contributions and the growth just for showing up to work every day. Knowing how big those numbers can get drives me to put out the best work possible, as efficiently as I can because the more money I can make on a job equals more money in all of our pockets at end of day.

PRS Employee Since 1997, Field Safety Professional

Recruited by then CEO, Rick, Terry joined the PRS team in 1997. Within two days of joining the team, Terry was asked to run a PR-450 in Fort Worth, TX.  Terry learned to run a Bartmill 300A and a CMI PR-800, then earned his class A license and started hauling equipment while in Texas. Terry jokes that his official position in Texas was do “whatever I was told to do”, which was admirable and certainly contributed to Terry’s immense growth within the our ESOP Company.  All in all, Terry spent 13 months in Texas for PRS until being brought back to CA with an official title of Journeyman. Take a look at Terry’s history:

·         Bartmill 300A 1yr

·         Bartmill 300B 2 yrs

·         CMI 525 2yrs

·         Roadtec RW 400 3yrs

·         Roadtec RX 500 6 yrs

·         Wirtgen 200I 6 yrs

“In 2017 Steve (PRS President/CEO) put out that we needed a field safety professional. I saw this as an opportunity to get off a machine and help the company to become safer out in the field.

Being part of an ESOP company and having the opportunity to protect the employees and their retirement that we all work hard for is very satisfying at the end of the day.”

PRS Employee Since 2002, Office Manager/ Restructuring Project Manager

In 2002 Nicole began her journey here at Pavement Recycling Systems (PRS). Right out of high school, as a temporary summer position Nicole was brought in to help with simple filling and basic data entry. Little did Nicole know that would be the very beginning of her journey! Before she knew it, it was January 2003 and she was officially hired as a receptionist. After being the receptionist for about 2 years she moved up in the company: Project coordinator assistant in our Milling department, take note, at this time everything was done on paper and had to be processed by hand, so accuracy was especially important. Then Nicole earned the opportunity to run PRS internal trucking company (PTS), and while in this position, Nicole met her husband who also works at PRS as a milling operator. After some time, Nicole then took on a new role in our contracts department. She then moved into Dispatch for our Cold Recycling division, but after a bit she had the opportunity to come back to the milling department as the small machine project coordinator (which is what she had wanted since she joined the PRS family). A couple years later Nicole was asked to take over as the restructuring (Stabilization, Full-Depth Reclamation) project coordinator, which is a division that she has called home for the past 9 years. Nicole is now the Office Manager/Restructuring Project Manager. As you can see, Nicole has certainly gotten her feet wet in almost all divisions within PRS.

“Throughout my years here I have really learned the meaning of hard work and dedication but also the reward that comes with that. Moving my way through the company was not easy. I had to prove myself each step of the way, show that I was serious and most of all capable of performing in each position. Being that this is an ESOP company we all hold each other to high standards and for that I am grateful because it made me the person I am today. PRS is a huge part of my life and I am thankful for all the coworkers I consider family as well as all opportunities I have had thus far. I cannot wait to see where this journey will lead me in the future. “

PRS Employee since 1999, San Diego Branch Estimator/ Office Supervisor

Allie joined the PRS team in October of 1999 as the San Diego Branch Receptionist. Allie’s dedication, and work ethic were quickly noticed, and her talents took her on quite the career journey. Allie was promoted to SD Branch Project Coordinator, to SD Branch Project Manager, to her now role of SD Branch Estimator/Office Supervisor. The entire PRS Employee-Owner family is so grateful to have such an invaluable member on the team!

“Being a PRS employee has enriched all aspects of my life, it’s been an honor to represent the “blue and gray” throughout my career.  I value doing for others what’s been done for me: sharing my experience while learning new things together, growing together, and ensuring the health and success of our company.”

Branch Manager, Jurupa Valley. PRS Employee since 1999

Terry Graves journey at PRS started on May 22, 2000. He was first hired on as a laborer and quickly moved to a support operator. Through his hard work and dedication, Terry was given an opportunity as a foreman and was given his own machine. Terry was adaptable, working whenever and wherever he was needed. Terry has great customer service , receiving praise from his customers while also profiting on jobs. From there he moved up to Superintendent and is now the Branch Manager of Jurupa Valley Milling/Diamond Grinding.

“My time at Pavement Recycling has truly been a blessing for my family and I. Pavement Recycling treats  all their employees as family. I feel that I belong to something special and that I’m not just a replaceable number. As I look back on our company and how much we have grown and our successes,  I am proud to be a part of it. It has been an honor to call PRSI family. “
